A public hearing will be scheduled in Orrville about the addition of tattoo and body piercing shops in the downtown area.
Genesis Beauty Salons want to add microblading to its services, according to information presented to Orrville City Council on Monday. Microblading is a semi-permanent eyebrow process that is considered a tattoo under Health Department regulations.
The request will be reviewed by the Orrville Planning Commission and will go through a third reading before council makes a final decision.
In other business, council agreed to sell about 4.9 acres to GMEG LLC. The area, which is close to Hostetler Road, will be used for an industrial building.
The Orrville Fire Department will test tornado sirens on the first Monday of every month at noon, starting May 6.
Safety-Service Director Steve Wheeler said the city is prepared for the total solar eclipse.
“The Police and Fire service departments have all met and discussed being ready for that,” he said. The plan includes traffic plans and having additional staff members on that day for unexpected incidents.
The next council meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 15, at City Hall.
