Leading law firm Aberdein Considine LLP has appointed Simon Dawes as Senior Associate to strengthen its commercial real estate team and support continued growth across England and Wales.

Simon brings more than 25 years’ experience in advising clients across the full spectrum of commercial property, including landlord and tenant matters, acquisitions and disposals and development and funding transactions.

He will support Chris Richardson, Head of Commercial Real Estate UK at Aberdein Considine, in driving the firm’s continued expansion following the opening of its office in Manchester’s Spinningfields in 2024.

Simon Dawes, Senior Associate at Aberdein Considine, said: “It is a privilege to join the commercial real estate team at Aberdein Considine. The firm has a strong reputation in a full range of legal areas, which is underpinned by its dedicated and client-focused approach and the depth of expertise across its network of offices.

“I look forward to working with Chris and the wider commercial property team to build on their success and support the firm’s continued UK expansion.”

Following the establishment of its first Manchester office, which complements the firm’s wider Scottish network and presence in Newcastle, Aberdein Considine has continued efforts to expand its scope in the region and secure new clients based across England and beyond.

Chris and Simon’s work in England and Wales is supported by Manchester-based Idrees Naeem, who joined in 2023.

Idrees has a strong background in commercial property and is an active member of pro-manchester – the Northwest’s largest business development organisation – where he sits on the Property & Regeneration Steering Group, focusing on future-proofing commercial and residential development, placemaking and sustainability across the sector.

Chris Richardson, Head of Commercial Real Estate UK at Aberdein Considine, said: “Simon is a strong addition to our commercial property team at Aberdein Considine. With his support, we will continue to drive growth across the commercial real estate sector across the UK, and he will play an integral role as we build new relationships in the market.

“Clients are increasingly telling us that they want one firm that can handle all their legal services across all UK jurisdictions, which our continued expansion is designed to support. Simon is aligned with Aberdein Considine’s personalised and partner-led approach, alongside our commitment to providing clients with the highest levels of advice and service on either side of the border.

“Simon will work closely with our commercial property experts across the business, including Idrees in Manchester, to position us for future growth.”

Simon’s previous roles include Legal Director positions at BTO Solicitors LLP and Shoosmiths, as well as senior roles at Pinsent Masons and HBJ Gateley.

Outside of work, he has a strong interest in motorsport and enjoys playing padel. He is also a father of three.

Aberdein Considine’s commercial real estate team delivers clear, practical guidance on all commercial property matters, supporting clients from across the UK with acquisitions, leasing, development and financing.
