Part exchange helps young Doncaster couple trade first home for forever home

After making their first ever home purchase at one Harron Homes development, a young couple has upsized to another, using Part Exchange to find their forever home at the housebuilder’s De Maulay Manor development in New Rossington.

Natalie and Nathan Brady, along with their dog Mabel, became first-time buyers when they purchased a three-bedroom home at Harron’s Wyndthorpe Chase development in September 2023. Looking to upsize for the next stage of their life, the couple used Part Exchange to move into a four-bedroom home at De Maulay Manor.

Their first Harron home had been recommended by close friends living at The Grange in Shireoaks, who encouraged Natalie and Nathan to consider the housebuilder after having a positive experience of their own. In fact, the couple were so happy with the recommendation, that they in turn recommended Harron to Natalie’s parents, who have moved to De Maulay Manor too.

Natalie said, “The Brackley was our first home together and exactly what we needed at that stage of our lives. It helped us get onto the property ladder, but when we started thinking further ahead, we knew our next move needed to give us more space for the long term.”

Although they visited developments from a range of housebuilders across South Yorkshire, the couple kept returning to Harron Homes.

Nathan said, “We liked the traditional build style and the overall look and finish, and because we had already bought with Harron, we knew what to expect. The Naunton felt like the perfect home for the next stage of our lives.”

Natalie added, “Part Exchange made the move so easy and took away so much of the stress. It gave us a clear route from one home into the other and meant we could focus on the excitement of moving into our forever home instead of worrying about a chain.”

The move has also improved the couple’s day-to-day routine. Natalie, who was born and raised in Doncaster, works at a local school, while De Maulay Manor is better placed for Nathan’s commute to Sheffield. Rossington’s village feel and nearby amenities, including the Lakeside Village shopping centre, were further attractions.

Nathan said, “The location works much better for both of us. We have the village and useful amenities close by, but we can also step outside and take Mabel on a proper walk. There’s a new green area opening up by our cul-de-sac too, so it feels like we have a good balance between convenience and open space.”

The couple credit Janette in the sales team alongside NHBC award-winning Site Manager Paul Jezusek and the wider site team.

Matt Barker, Harron Homes North Midlands’ Regional Managing Director, said, “Natalie and Nathan’s story captures a journey many young buyers aspire to make. We are delighted that their first Harron home became the springboard to their forever home at De Maulay Manor.

“Part Exchange can offer customers greater certainty and a more straightforward route into their next home. It is particularly rewarding that Natalie and Nathan’s experience has also given Natalie’s parents the confidence to join the community.”
