Tottenham Hotspur Are In The Running To Land This Paris Saint-Germain Winger: Should De Zerbi Snap Him Up?

In a recent report, Foot Mercato stated that Tottenham Hotspur are in the running to land Paris Saint-Germain winger Ibrahim Mbaye. It has been mentioned that Spurs would have to compete with Manchester City and Aston Villa in the race to land the Senegalese talent this summer.

Mbaye’s Impressive Rise In Ligue 1

The 18-year-old managed to catch the eye at times with his performances on the right side of PSG’s attack in the previous campaign. Mbaye participated in 24 league matches for the French outfit last season, scoring three goals and securing a couple of assists across all fronts.

The talented teenager is currently among the best young wide players in Ligue 1. Therefore, Spurs would do well to lure him to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this off-season.

His current contract at PSG will run out in the summer of 2028, which could make it tough for Tottenham to sign him on a cut-price deal in this transfer window.

Should Tottenham Hotspur Boss Roberto De Zerbi Snap Mbaye Up This Summer?

Mbaye is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few dangerous runs with it out on the flanks. He has got the vision to create a few inviting chances for his teammates in the final third and can shoot the ball with venom from long range. Mbaye can even chip in by scoring and creating the odd goal for his team up top.

The Senegalese talent is primarily a right-winger but can also function as a left-sided wide player or as an attacking midfielder if asked to do so. However, only time will tell whether he can cope with the physical style and high intensity of Premier League football if Spurs manage to get him on board later this year.

We can expect Mbaye to add more quality and depth to Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi’s frontline. He is good enough to compete for a regular first-team spot at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next season.

At 18, the future looks quite bright for Mbaye as long as he continues to improve with each year. He has got the potential to be a success story at the North London club in the long run. Therefore, De Zerbi should focus on snapping him up later this year.
