Niteshift, a New York City-based startup building cloud infrastructure for AI coding agents, announced a $7 million seed funding round led by Greylock, with participation from Amplify Partners, BoxGroup, and SV Angel.
The company also revealed the general availability of its platform following an earlier waitlist phase.
In addition to institutional investors, Niteshift has attracted backing from a number of technology leaders and entrepreneurs, including Reid Hoffman, Datadog executives Olivier Pomel and Alexis Le-Quoc, Braintrust founder Ankur Goyal, Reflection AI co-founder Misha Laskin, and current and former executives from Anthropic, Google Cloud, and Slack.
Founded by former Datadog engineering leaders Sajid Mehmood and Conor Branagan, Niteshift provides a full-stack cloud platform designed for AI coding agents. The platform enables agents such as Claude Code, Codex, and open-source models to operate within fully configured development environments that include runtimes, services, authentication systems, testing frameworks, and verification workflows.
The platform allows engineering teams to run multiple agent sessions simultaneously without relying on local hardware. Users can initiate agents through tools such as Slack, Linear, and GitHub, enabling engineers, product managers, and designers to collaborate without maintaining their own development environments. Because the platform is model-agnostic, teams can switch among AI vendors without rebuilding infrastructure.
According to the company, while AI coding tools have advanced rapidly, many organizations still face challenges deploying them in production environments because coding agents often lack the context, dependencies, and testing capabilities needed to validate their work. Niteshift aims to address that problem by providing scalable cloud environments where agents can autonomously run, test, and verify code changes.
The founders spent nearly a decade at Datadog developing infrastructure and developer tools for cloud-native applications before launching Niteshift to support AI-native software development. The platform enables teams to launch coding agents from collaboration tools, run multiple agents in parallel, and automatically generate pull requests accompanied by verification artifacts.
KEY QUOTES:
“Agents are tackling problems in hours that would have taken teams of senior engineers weeks, but the tooling needed to get that code into production hasn’t kept up. At minimum, agents need a real environment to close the verification loop themselves, and that’s just the starting point. Agents use tools in ways no engineer ever would, and we’ve barely begun building for that reality. There’s an entirely new class of tools waiting to be built around what agents can actually do. We spent years at Datadog building a powerful platform for diverse, often messy, production systems. That’s exactly the experience you need to build this right.”
Sajid Mehmood, Co-Founder And CEO, Niteshift
“Sajid and Conor have been at the forefront of developer tools their entire careers from cloud, mobile, and now AI. Their knowledge of AI combined with their obsession for shipping fast make them the right leaders to navigate this new world of agentic engineering. We need to reimagine developer infrastructure for coding agents, and Niteshift has exactly the right team to do it.”
