1911 Gold Corporation CEO Shaun Heinrichs joined Steve Darling from Proactive to discuss significant operational progress at the company’s True North Gold Project in Manitoba, where a series of key infrastructure upgrades and development milestones are positioning the project for test mining later this year and a potential production decision in 2027.
Heinrichs said the company has successfully completed dewatering activities in the A-Shaft and on Level 26, marking an important step in restoring underground access and preparing the mine for future operations. Rehabilitation work on the loading pocket, a critical component of the ore handling system, is also nearing completion.
A major milestone has been the successful commissioning of the Level 16-to-26 ore pass chute, which is now operational and capable of supporting the movement of material generated from underground development and future test-mining activities. To further accelerate progress, 1911 Gold has awarded its underground development contract to SCR Mining & Tunnelling, with crews and specialized mining equipment already mobilized to site to support mining, mechanical and electrical work.
On the processing side, Heinrichs reported that the primary ball mill and a new freshwater system have been commissioned and are now operational. Refurbishment of the freshwater pumphouse is also nearing completion. In addition, the company’s newly established on-site assay laboratory is fully operational, with initial furnace fusion testing completed and the facility now ready to process grade control, geology and exploration samples.
The company has also made substantial progress on mill refurbishment activities. Upgrades are underway to the flotation circuit, regrind mill and leach tanks, while preparations continue for the installation of a new crusher circuit. The legacy jaw crusher and apron feeder structures have been removed and the concrete foundation for the new crusher building has been completed. Major crushing equipment supplied by Westpro remains on schedule for delivery in early Q4.
Underground, Level 26 is now accessible through D-Shaft and into the ramps serving the 710-711 Zone. Repairs to the rock breaker and grizzly system are underway ahead of new equipment installations expected later this month. The loading pocket rehabilitation continues with the installation of structural steel, new pulleys and bearings, electrical cabling and control systems.
Additional accomplishments include successful operation of the Level 16-to-26 ore pass, replacement of hoist ropes in both shaft compartments and installation of a refurbished skip, all of which support the planned restart of shaft skipping operations this fall.
The company expects to move into commissioning of the crushing circuit around mid-to-late November, followed by plans to put its first test ore through the mill in December. Heinrichs said a few hundred tonnes of stockpiled material are available for the initial run.
