Chi-Rho Financial has appointed Daniel Hoinacki, CFA, as Head of Capital Formation, adding an investment executive with more than two decades of fundraising and allocator experience as the Atlanta-based alternative investment firm prepares for its next stage of growth.
Hoinacki will focus on expanding Chi-Rho’s investor relationships and supporting capital formation across a platform that includes a market-neutral, multi-strategy hedge fund, a fund of hedge funds and customized portfolio advisory services.
He brings experience spanning global fundraising, investor relations and strategic partnerships across multi-strategy hedge funds, equity long/short strategies, public and private credit, and asset-based finance and structured credit.
Before joining Chi-Rho, Hoinacki held senior client development positions at York Capital, Tricadia Capital and Carlson Capital, where his responsibilities included working with a broad range of institutional and other investors globally.
Earlier, he was a Principal in the Fund Investment Group at Moore Capital. In that role, Hoinacki managed external investments across hedge funds, venture capital, private equity, real estate and real assets.
He also built a fund of hedge funds business within Moore Capital that was subsequently spun out, with Hoinacki serving as its President and Lead Portfolio Manager. That experience gives him a background on both the capital allocation and fundraising sides of the alternative investment market.
“Having spent my career on both sides of the table, as an allocator building a fund of hedge funds business and as a capital raiser for leading hedge funds, I know how rare it is to find a platform built as thoughtfully as Chi-Rho’s,” Hoinacki said.
Before Moore Capital, Hoinacki was a Senior Investment Consultant at Graystone Consulting, which was acquired by Morgan Stanley, advising family offices and ultra-high-net-worth clients. He began his investment career at Glenwood Capital, an early participant in the fund of hedge funds market.
At Chi-Rho, Hoinacki joins a firm that has operated since 1996 and built its investment model around allocating capital to external specialist managers.
Chi-Rho’s multi-manager, multi-strategy approach includes separately managed accounts with external portfolio managers operating within a non-directional framework. The structure allows the firm to combine specialist investment capabilities while maintaining portfolio-level oversight and allocation decisions.

The appointment strengthens Chi-Rho’s dedicated capital formation capabilities as management invests in the personnel and infrastructure needed to expand the platform.

Hoinacki is a CFA charterholder and holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He also earned bachelor’s degrees in Finance and International Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
His appointment gives Chi-Rho an executive with experience evaluating outside managers as an allocator as well as raising capital for alternative investment platforms, a combination the firm can draw on as it expands investor relationships around its multi-manager strategy.
