Sligo teenager Lucie Cawley won a brilliant silver medal for Ireland in Saturday morning’s final of the women’s 2000 metres steeplechase at the European Under-18 Athletics Championships in Italy. The 16-year-old produced a stunning run clocking 6:36.22, which took almost five seconds off her existing Irish U18 record for the event. She spoke to Athletics Ireland shortly after her final run.
