XRP has bounced nearly 46% from its summer lows, but a wall of underwater investors and growing supply from Ripple’s escrow could cap every rally before it matters. Three very different price ranges for 2027 reveal just how wide the…

As of September 27, 2026, XRP (CRYPTO:XRP) has surged about 46% over the last three months, trading at around $1.53. This rise follows a month when Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) also saw gains, climbing 8.3% to reach its highest levels since January on September 21.
However, it’s essential to note that XRP’s current price is still significantly lower than its peak in 2025. As we look toward the fourth quarter of 2026, it’s vital to evaluate what the XRP price prediction for 2027 might be based on these movements.
XRP’s Recovery Still Leaves It Far from 2025 Highs
XRP closed June at $1.04 and closed July at $1.06. Throughout August, it fluctuated between $0.99 and $1.70 but managed to stabilize in September within a tighter range of $1.25 to $1.66, indicating that buyers are holding onto most of August’s gains.
Despite this recovery, XRP remains down 17.3% for 2026 and 45.8% compared to the previous year, a more significant decline than Bitcoin’s drop of 23.2%. The token reached a high of $3.67 in July 2025, closed the year at $1.84, and hit $2.42 in January 2026, placing it about 58% below its peak and 37% below its January high.
Many investors are still facing losses since many bought in at prices above $2.75, leading them to sell during each rally as the price nears their purchase levels.
XRP’s $97 Billion Market Value Sets the Ceiling for 2027
Currently, XRP’s market value, calculated by multiplying the price by approximately 62.9 billion XRP in circulation, stands at about $97 billion, representing around 3.3% of the total $2.91 trillion cryptocurrency market. For each 10-cent increase in XRP’s price, around $6.3 billion in new investments is required.
Additionally, the supply of XRP is increasing since Ripple can release up to 1 billion XRP from escrow every month, which equates to about $1.5 billion at a price of $1.53. As supply grows, buyers will need to put in additional funds to maintain the same price levels.
At its peak of $3.67, the existing 62.9 billion XRP would be valued at about $231 billion, which is 2.4 times its current value—approximately 8% of the total crypto market. For comparison, Standard Chartered’s long-term target of $28 for XRP by 2030 would imply a total market value of about $1.7 trillion.
Three Possible Price Ranges for XRP in 2027
- Conservative Range ($1.00 to $1.25): This range suggests that the rebound may fade and XRP could revert to summer levels. Support levels have previously held near $1.01 and $0.99. The September low of $1.25 could shift from being a floor to a ceiling.
- Base Range ($1.60 to $2.40): In this scenario, XRP breaks through the selling pressure that capped its price between $1.61 and $1.70 in August and September. Fund inflows might support this growth, as U.S. spot XRP ETFs captured roughly $75.6 million from September 22 to 25, and U.S. money supply hit a one-year high of about $23.3 trillion in August.
- Optimistic Range ($3.04 to $3.67): This scenario would see XRP return to the price levels of January 2025 and the peak in July 2025. Achieving this would require significant growth in the overall cryptocurrency market, surpassing $2.91 trillion, likely driven by Bitcoin, which is currently down 3.7% for 2026. Standard Chartered’s 2026 target of $2.80 falls short of this range.
Where Could XRP Be in 2027?
XRP is likely to trade between $1.60 and $2.40 in 2027 if it manages to close a month above $1.70, approximately 11% higher than its current price. In this projected range, $1,000 worth of XRP bought at $1.53 could appreciate to between $1,050 and $1,570. The current rebound has momentum and is supported by inflows, but for XRP to reach its 2025 highs, the market value will need to more than double while Ripple continues to add new supply from escrow.
However, the risk remains: XRP has struggled to maintain levels above $1.60 in September, closing below this mark on September 22 and 23. If XRP ends the month below its September low of $1.25, which is about 18% lower, the conservative range of $1.00 to $1.25 becomes increasingly plausible. Falling below the August low of $0.99, roughly 35% lower, would suggest that the entire 2026 rebound has unwound.
