On Thursday, October 23, the Department of Economics, in partnership with the Economics Association, hosted the annual Women in Economics Networking Night at the University Club’s Scriptorium Room. The event brought together over 50 students for an inspiring evening of conversation, mentorship, and professional connection.
The night featured keynote speaker Alaina Hartley ’16, Private Equity Expert and former EA President, who shared insights from her journey in finance and offered encouragement to current students pursuing careers in economics and related fields.
Students had the opportunity to engage directly with alumnae representing a wide range of industries, including asset management, consulting, finance, law, public affairs, and wealth management. Participants included Ingrid Lee ’05 (CIM Group), Marlaina Leo ’22 (Cornerstone Research), Sarah Figueroa ’23 (Stellant Systems), Katherine Hurley ’15 (Ares Management Corporation), Emily Ching ’23 (Bryson Gillette), and Hannah Lewis ’21 (Sentinel Bridge Wealth Management).
The event fostered meaningful dialogue between alumnae and students, highlighting the power of community and mentorship among women in the field of economics.
