Stock Market Holiday: NSE and BSE shut today for Maharashtra Day

Stock markets in India are shut on Friday, May 1, on account of Maharashtra Day.

Trading on the leading exchanges, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) is suspended on Friday.

All trading and settlement activities, on the exchanges, including equity, securities lending and borrowing (SLB), equity derivatives, and interest rate derivates, are suspended on Friday.
The commodity derivatives segment will be shut as well for the morning session but will be open for the evening session from 5pm to.

Trading on the two Indian stock market exchanges will resume from Monday, May 4, 2026.

Markets will also remain closed on May 28, 2026 this month on account of Bakri Id.
