The Center for Applied Economics at Marquette University has released the July 2026 Metro Milwaukee Economic Insights Report. Created in partnership with the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce and the Milwaukee 7 Regional Partnership, this report provides a clear overview of Wisconsin’s economic conditions, with a focus on the Milwaukee-Waukesha metropolitan area.
The report analyzes current production, inflation, employment and housing trends, offering short-term forecasts of key indicators to help policymakers, businesses and community leaders make informed decisions. Additionally, the July 2026 report contains an economic spotlight examining the demographic and economic characteristics of the foreign-born population in Wisconsin and the Milwaukee area.
The July 2026 report was prepared by Dr. Grace Wang, professor of economics and director of the Center for Applied Economics, and Dr. Nicholas Jolly, professor of economics, associate director of the Center for Applied Economics and director of graduate studies at Marquette University.
